In every moment of life—whether in joy or pain—we have an incredible opportunity to praise God. Today, I’m sitting here in my bed, recovering from the heart procedure that I had Tuesday , and the pain is real. The struggle is real. Yet, in this moment of difficulty, I choose to praise God and take courage, not because it’s easy, but because He is good, no matter the circumstances, I choose to praise Him yet again that He gave me the strength to get through this and that Hw was with me.
Praise isn't only for the mountaintops; it’s for the valleys too. Even when life feels heavy, worship and praise are the keys that lift our spirits and keep our hearts anchored in God’s goodness. Our praise is an act of faith, declaring that God’s goodness remains true, even in our suffering. And in that, we find courage.
I felt that peaceful courage from God firsthand just before my procedure. As I lay on the bed, nervous and anxious about being put to sleep, I turned to worship. In my mind, I sang my favourite worship song, reminding myself of His peace and His promises, and that I was laying in His arms of safety. In that moment, I chose to trust Him completely. Even in the worry and uncertainty, His presence brought me peace, and His truth gave me courage. Worship, even in the quiet of my mind, calmed my heart and reminded me that I was never alone.
Every moment, no matter how challenging, is an opportunity to lift our hearts to God. Our praise doesn’t depend on our feelings or circumstances—it’s a choice, a powerful act of trust. When we praise Him, we declare that His love, His power, and His faithfulness are greater than our pain. We worship our way through the storm, knowing that He will never leave us.
As I sit here in this bed, battling physical pain, I choose to praise. It’s not easy, but it is the truth and weapon that sustains me.
Worship is the reminder that no matter the season, God’s goodness is unchanging. He is worthy of our praise, and we are strengthened when we lift His name, no matter what.
So today, take courage and take every opportunity to praise Him. Praise Him in the hard moments. Praise Him through the pain. He is always good, and His love never fails.
So so powerful. Praising when it hurts is another level- it means you understand that worship is never about what you’re going through but about who He is. This is so inspirational Jas- keep writing- people need to read and know the power of the truth you’re sharing xx
